Royal Umbrella collaborated with Green Sproutz Singapore, a social enterprise that specializes in sustainability outreach programmes, organized a series of bucket-and-carrier sustainability workshops at 3 centres in Singapore – namely, Muhammadiyah Health & Day Care Centre, SASCO@WESTCOAST Active Ageing Centre and Saint Luke’s Eldercare in Tampines.
With volunteers from Tanjong Katong Secondary School, the workshops aimed at promoting the upcycling of packaging materials and provided a platform for the students to engage meaningfully with the elderly at these centres. Participants were also allowed to take the upcycled buckets home.
Royal Umbrella also presented goodie bags to beneficiaries in St. Theresa’s Home Singapore, St. John’s Home, Bright Hill Evergreen Home, Saint Luke’s ElderCare in Punggol and Hao Ren Hao Shi. Each of these goodie bags contained 1kg of Royal Umbrella rice, a reusable bag and an upcycled earpiece pouch made by Green Sproutz and packed by volunteers from Bukit Batok Residents’ Network.
